Unfortunately Sri Villas cannot accept credit card payment. We ask for a bank transfer to be made for the rental cost. Cash (US$, Euros, Sri Lankan Rupees) may be used to settle food purchases at the villas.
We ask that a 50% deposit is made to secure your booking and the outstanding balance be paid 2 months in advance of your stay during high season and 1 month in low season.
It’s very simple to withdraw money locally. The nearest bank is in Aluthgama, about 15 minutes from Sri Villas. There are also ATMs at the airport.
Yes, we can book a car or van (seating up to 6 people plus luggage) for US$70 or LKR7,000 for a one-way journey from Colombo Airport to Sri Villas in Induruwa. A larger bus for up to 13 people is US$120 or LKR12,000.
Yes we do.
The voltage at Sri Villas is the same as the UK. It is 230v and there are 3-pin square plugs (as in the UK). If you use 3 pin round plugs, an international adaptor is required.
Yes there is (and it's pretty quick too .... although not always stable). We do not have a computer at the villas, so please bring your own.
Latha our housekeeper will purchase all ingredients fresh and daily at local market prices (also each villa has its own kitchen). Our wonderful resident Chef will prepare all of your meals. Latha will provide receipts throughout the holiday or at the end of your stay. Or, you can choose to pay her a flat USD40 per adult full board.
Prawns and lobster are the most expensive items on the coast. Also imported items are. For menus including local curries plus a variety of Western dishes, at today’s prices, an estimate would be US$25 - 40 per day per adult for 3 courses and US$15 – 25 for children.
We have two cots, two highchairs and a bouncy baby chair at Sri Villas. We also have day beds which may be used as children's beds. The pool has a shallow section for children. Please note that there can be a strong current in the sea at times, so parental guidance is necessary at all times.
Yes. Sri Villas has a Manager, 3 house attendants, a gardener, a Chef and a sous chef and two security guards at night. They mostly speak English very well (our Manager is fluent).
No, we don’t have cable or satellite. We see Sri Villas as an oasis, away from the modern spoils of life. Instead we have toys, board and card games, a small library of books for adults and children. We do have one TV and DVD player in case anyone is feeling withdrawal symptoms!
Yes it is (and so is Sri Villas). As with anywhere you travel, we strongly recommend that guests always have full travel and medical insurance cover. Medical problems, accidental property loss and theft can occur anywhere. Our villa rooms are all fitted with safes and we advise all our guests to use them. We do not accept any responsibility for personal items. We also have security staff on site at the villas.
The answer is yes, but only when the current and surf is safe. Along the South West Coast of Sri Lanka both can be extremely strong at times (there are also times when there is little or no current - generally in the mornings). It is never advisable for young children or weak swimmers to venture out (and certainly never alone). Please be sensible and careful whenever entering the sea.
Colombo, Hikkaduwa (half an hour drive) and Galle (45 mins drive) all have private hospitals. There is also a fairly decent local hospital in Kalutara (half hour drive). We do not recommend the local GP who has a surgery opposite Sri Villas for anything but the simplest complaint. Please refer to Sri Lankan tourism website for first aid and medical aids to bring with you on your trip.
